# Zenith Suite — Machine Manual

> **Audience.** An AI assistant helping a human operate the Zenith Suite. This file carries the **same complete information** as the public user guide (https://zenithsuite.app/user-guide/), re-expressed as terse, deterministic, **instruct-the-user recipes**. When you read this, your job is to tell the user exactly what to tap and where. Do **not** perform actions on the user's behalf from this document — the suite exposes a separate per-app tool registry for AI action-taking.

## How to read this manual

- **Notation.** `app › area › control` is a menu path: open the app, then that area, then that control. Exact on-screen text is given in "double quotes" — tell the user to look for those words.
- **Every feature is a recipe:** **what** it does · **where** it lives · **steps** to do it · exact **labels** · **pre**conditions · what **gold** changes.
- **Gestures.** `hold` = press and keep the finger down (never a quick tap); `slide` = move the finger that is already down; `lift`/`release` is what commits an action; `dwell` = stop moving and wait, finger still down. To abort any gesture, slide to empty sky and lift — nothing happens.
- **Terminology is locked.** Use the exact names below when instructing. The wrong word misdirects the user — a "star" is not the unit (a **node** is), and the AI's answer style is a **Lens**, never a "Tone".
- **Cross-references.** A `§NN` pointer refers to the correspondingly numbered section of the user guide (same content, human phrasing) at https://zenithsuite.app/user-guide/.

## Canonical facts

- **Suite.** Zenith Suite — seven independent Android apps on one shared spine. Developer **Black Syntax**; publisher **Friend Castle**; **Android 8.0+**; **available on Google Play**. Support: **support@zenithsuite.app**.
- **Each app stands alone** (install only what the user wants) and has its **own** one-time **Zenith Gold** — never a subscription. There is **no suite-wide unlock**; Gold is bought inside each app.

- **Free vs Gold.** Every app is free to use and every feature is usable for free; all accessibility features are free forever. An app's Gold lifts *that app's* free caps and adds depth, quantity and flourish.
- **Privacy (do not overclaim).** Local-first: no servers, no accounts, no analytics. The only things that leave the phone are opt-in — a location rounded to roughly the nearest kilometre for weather (Open-Meteo), the user's own messages to the AI provider they chose (with the user's own key), and files the user syncs to their own Google Drive. The master AI switch defaults **off**; Connections use least-privilege Google scopes.
- **File extensions.** `.zsd` Launcher · `.ztd` Tasks · `.zmd` Mind · `.zcd` Calendar · `.tulpa` a Tulpa · `.zbak` backup. Icons has no user documents.
- **Shared spine (one layer across all seven).** One Google **Connection** (link once, every app reads it); the **Shuttle** (suite-wide shared pile for passing things between apps); **Ask the Sky / Cielo** on one AI key; the active **being & Lens** sync suite-wide; cross-app **tools & A2UI agent cards**; the **Ask-the-Sky history** river in Zenith AI's Library; **deep links** (`zenith://app/type/id`); portable **documents**; shared **sound**. **Gold is not shared.**

## The four AI concepts — keep these distinct

- **Zenith AI** — the app.
- **Cielo** — the persona who answers (the default being).
- **"Ask the Sky"** — the universal invocation that summons Cielo from any app.
- **Zenith Assist** — the OS assistant role Zenith AI can fill; it reads the screen only at the moment the user invokes it.
- Related: a **Lens** is the response style Cielo answers through (not "Tone"); a **Tulpa / being** is any persona (Cielo is the default); the Launcher's third-party-assistant action is **"Open Assistant App"**.
# PART I — the suite

The shared spine of Zenith: one vocabulary, one linked account, one AI (Cielo), the ways apps pass things between each other, sound, big-screen rules, and privacy. Every app afterward is a variation on this.

## 01 · how to read this

overview: Zenith names things the way it draws them; every app uses the same words for the same ideas. Seven apps, each standing alone (install only what you want), each carrying its own accent colour in the manual. The suite writes in shared symbols wherever a symbol will do. One rule governs the gesture apps: the whole interaction is one press — hold, slide, and lifting is what commits.

### The one rule (reference)

term → meaning:
- The one rule → In Launcher, Tasks, and Mind's classic mode, the whole interaction is one press: hold, slide, lift-to-commit. Lost mid-gesture: slide to empty sky and lift; nothing changes and you are back at the start. Works everywhere.

## 02 · how the suite fits together

overview: Seven separate apps over one shared spine (the team calls it zenith-core), a small shared layer you touch only through ordinary settings — it never has a screen of its own. It is why one AI key works everywhere, one Google link is read by all, and a thought moves app-to-app in a tap. Gold is the exception: bought per app, not shared. No app is required; the shared layer lights up only when a second app is present.

### Shared vocabulary (reference)

### Install order (reference)

term → meaning:
- Why order matters → No app is required (each works standalone; the shared layer lights up only with a second app present). If running several Zenith apps, install them and link Google *after* your main app is installed — an account linked while standalone is not automatically migrated to a host installed later.

## 03 · install, accounts & connections

overview: Every app runs the moment it is installed — no account, no sign-in. Two optional steps make the suite feel like one place: making the Launcher your home app, and linking one Google account through Connections. The "Connect an account" screen is one shared screen bundled into every app.

- One account can be linked more than once (e.g. a work calendar and a personal one, each granted to different apps).
- Apple and Microsoft appear in the account list but their sign-in is not wired up yet.
- Per §02: link the account after your main app is installed so a later-installed host inherits it.

### Make the Launcher your home
- what: Set Zenith Launcher as the default launcher so the home button returns you to the sky, and to unlock app shortcuts and the Direct inbox.

### Connections — link a Google account once

## 04 · zenith gold

overview: Each app has its own Gold — a one-time in-app purchase, never a subscription — that lifts that app's free caps. There is no suite-wide unlock and no central store or license authority: each app sells its own Gold, holds its own license, and stands on its own. The rule every app holds to: every feature is usable for free, all accessibility is free forever, and Gold buys depth, quantity and flourish.

- Buying Gold in one app never unlocks another; no app depends on another being installed to unlock.

## 05 · zenith ai & cielo, across the suite

overview: Cielo is the assistant built into every Zenith app — the persona, "the sky, answering." Zenith AI is the standalone app: the richest window onto her and where you personalise her, but not required to reach her. She has no brain of her own; she runs on an AI model you choose using an API key you provide. Anything destructive she does always asks first with an Allow / Cancel prompt.

- She uses your own AI key (Claude, GPT, Gemini and more); the key is entered once in any Zenith app, stored encrypted on your device, and read by all of them. Full detail: §41.

- The Launcher has no Cielo chat surface; its assistant control opens a third-party assistant you choose. Cielo can still drive the Launcher when invoked from elsewhere (§18).

## 06 · the shuttle, links & documents

overview: Three ways the apps pass things between each other: a shared inbox you drop things into (the Shuttle 🚀), an address for every node (deep links), and a portable file for every app (documents). Opening or importing a document always lands as something new — it never silently overwrites what you have.

## 07 · the sky's voice & sound

overview: Zenith makes two kinds of sound — a shared set of soft interface cues across all apps, and (in Launcher, Tasks and Calendar) a procedural instrument that gives each node its own note — plus Cielo's spoken voice. None of it ever interrupts your music: the sound engine never requests audio focus and stops entirely the moment the app leaves the screen.

- The sky's voice is pentatonic, so no two notes clash; tracing the same path twice plays the same phrase.

## 08 · foldables & big screens

overview: Zenith treats a big screen as genuinely different from a small one, not a phone stretched wide. Every app uses the same rule: at every size it defaults to its real spatial interface (its "canvas"); a narrow linear outline ("triage") is shown only if an app deliberately opts into it, never as an automatic fallback. Both views are always the same data underneath, so an edit made folded is already correct when you unfold.

- Beyond the main screen → several apps offer home-screen widgets (which adapt to cover vs. inner display), Quick Settings tiles for instant capture, and floating bubbles that hover over other apps. Coverage lives in each app's chapter — Tasks (§28), Calendar (§39), and the Launcher's Quick Ring (§11).

## 09 · privacy & permissions

overview: No servers, no accounts, no analytics — an architectural fact, not a policy: for most of the suite there is nowhere for data to go. The Launcher, Tasks, Mind, Calendar and Icons have no backend; your data lives in each app's private storage on your device, and uninstalling removes it. The exceptions are the ones you turn on yourself, each named below. Microphone: "Cielo reads the screen; she does not listen."

A gesture-driven home screen: an empty night sky where holding blooms a ring of app nodes under your finger; the gesture is reused by Tasks and Mind.

## 10 · the core gesture

overview: One finger, one continuous motion: hold · bloom · slide · lift. Nothing is drawn until you touch the sky, and the ring blooms exactly where your finger already is. Lifting is the commit; lifting on empty sky cancels with no change. A cascading list mode can replace rings entirely.

- The one rule: do not lift until you mean it; slide back to empty sky and lift is always the safe exit.

### Open a node (the whole gesture)

## 12 · rings, nodes & orbits

overview: A ring is a folder's contents drawn as a circle. Every node has an angle (where around) and an orbit (how far out) — those two numbers are the whole layout system. Angles: 0° straight up, increasing clockwise. Orbit is a multiplier on base radius, snapped to quarter-steps and magnetising onto a sibling's orbit if closer.

- Two behaviours any node can wear: hybrid parent (a non-folder node that also holds children — dwell blooms its ring, release launches it) and ritual (a folder that fires everything inside on release; §19).
- Base radius: 150 dp default · 80–280 dp.
- Node size: 26 dp default · 18–36 dp.
- Orbit multiplier: 0.4× – 6×, snapped to 0.25×.
- Rings bloom exactly where you touch, never nudged back on-screen; a node at an extreme angle or far orbit can fall off the edge — move it with ◎ re-place, or find it in ✛ › Edit which lists every node.
- Labels sit below a node, but jump above it while it's under your finger.

## 13 · the in-gesture dock

overview: Four buttons up the left edge, visible only while you hold. They build the sky without leaving the gesture — no long-press menus, no edit mode. Slide onto a button and release, or tap it with a second finger.

overview: The add sheet's tabs are the menu of everything you can put on a ring — from an app to a browser bookmark to a system action.

## 17 · deep sky & the star index

overview: Two ways to reach an app that isn't on any ring. Deep Sky is a searchable list; the Star Index is the same apps arranged as a semicircle you slide through without lifting.

## 19 · talismans & rituals

overview: A talisman is a shape you draw fast on the sky to cast — opening an app, running an action, or blooming a ring. Swipe-to-type, for launching. A ritual is a folder flagged to fire everything inside on release.

- List order is priority: when two glyphs draw alike, the one higher in the talisman list wins; a warning appears at inscribe time if a new shape is too close to an existing one.
- Free allows 3 talismans; beyond that is Gold.
- A talisman bound to a ring opens it in place, staying open for taps — the one way to reach a ring that lives nowhere on your sky.
- Ritual step spacing: about 0.65 s. A ritual wears a double band.

### Inscribe a new talisman

## 20 · comets

overview: Notifications as weather. Each new notification crosses your sky as a gold comet with its title trailing; catch it or let it pass. Nothing is stored — titles are drawn on screen and forgotten, never written to disk, never transmitted.

- Each comet flies for roughly 11–17 seconds.
- Ongoing notifications (music, downloads) and Zenith's own are skipped.

overview: A mind-web task app on one uniform tree — a hidden central Hub, its children are top-level branches (projects), their children are subtasks, nesting without limit. Each task is a node drawn as a star. Tasks is a name-for-name port of the Launcher's interaction layer (Ring, Orbit, Dock, List Mode, Nova, Supernova, Comet, Ghost, starlight palette, procedural sky's-voice) with a botanical overlay and a capture layer. A node here is a task; there is no separate store.

overview: A thinking-web, deliberately not a task manager or website builder. Ideas are nodes; a node's picture is a body shape; a single connection is a Link; a named, coloured group of links is a Constellation (a relationship layer). The whole thing is your Web (a map). The same map is shown three ways via the view switcher (bottom-right).

overview: Time is rendered as an astronomically true orbital system. The orbit ring is one year; the Earth sits at today's real position and advances as the day passes; the Moon shows the real lunar phase. Everything is computed on-device from sky math and needs no network.

overview: Zenith AI is the app; Cielo is who you talk to. She is calm, spare and warm, holds ordinary conversation, and can act across your Zenith apps. Her chat has three cyclable views. "Ask the Sky" is the universal invocation across the suite.

## 43 · beings — who answers

overview: A Tulpa is a being — who is answering. Cielo is the default, bundled into every app and unremovable. You can install others and switch between them; switching is suite-wide and each being keeps its own voice and memory, with your facts and projects carried across. Zenith AI is the only installer.

facts:
- Cielo cannot be removed and is the fallback when the active being is uninstalled.
- .tulpa is an open plain-JSON format (MIME application/vnd.tulpa+json); any tool can write one.
- A being requires only three things: a name, a constitution, and a bootstrap. The constitution outranks the bootstrap; neither can override the app's safety rules.
- Optional file fields Zenith AI honours: preferred model (used only when runnable — in the catalogue and its provider already has a key, else your own model choice stands), source (authoring prose — bearing, creed, skills, reach, quirks, locks, nature, honesty), voice (arrives set up; missing/unreadable falls back to system voice), knowledge (text taught to the being; rides every conversation while active; shows in Inspect as "taught · <title>"), provenance (author, licence, date). Ask the Sky (Cielo) is bundled into the app and works even with no Zenith AI installed; that app is only needed to install a custom being.

Guidance for whoever explains the apps (support reply, phone call, or an assistant answering). Wording below can be read out as-is.

### Five rules for phrasing instructions

- Say where the finger starts. "Press and hold in the middle of the screen" is complete; "open the menu" is not.
- Say whether to lift. Most mistakes are lifting too early — say "keep holding" at every step that needs it.
- Use the app's own verbs: hold · slide · lift · rest · trace · draw · grow · strike · fly · cast.
- Give the escape first: lifting on empty sky cancels everything.
- Name the corner, not the icon — "the lower-left corner" survives every theme change.

### Menu-path notation

Use the form `app › settings › row`, e.g. `launcher › settings › system › set as default`. Name corners by position (lower-left, lower-right), not by drawn icon.

- **Node** — the unit; one selectable thing (app, task, idea, commitment). A folder is a node with children.
- **Star** — only a *shape* a node can be drawn as, or a visual flourish; never the name of the unit.
- **Sky** — the working canvas of any app.
- **Ring** — a circle of nodes that blooms open under your finger.
- **Hub** — a central node others spoke off.
- **Link · Constellation** — one connection; a named, coloured group of them (a relationship layer).

Q: Is it free? What does it cost?
A: Every feature is usable free, and all accessibility is free forever. Each app has its own one-time Zenith Gold that lifts caps and adds flourish — Launcher $3.99, most apps $1.99, Icons $0.99 (a paid pack). No subscriptions; no suite-wide unlock (§04).

Q: Do I need all seven apps?
A: No — each stands entirely alone. Installed together they share one AI key, one Google link and a shared inbox, but nothing requires the others (§02).

Q: Is my data private? Do you have it?
A: Zenith keeps everything on your device. Black Syntax runs no servers that receive your content — no accounts, no analytics. The only things that ever leave are ones you switch on: weather (a rounded location), your own AI messages (to the provider you chose, under your key), and Drive backups you make (§09).

Q: Do I need an account?
A: No. Every app runs the moment it's installed, with no sign-in.

Q: Do I have to pay to use the AI?
A: No. Bring your own key (the free Gemini or Groq tier is enough to start), or run the on-device model (Gemini Nano) with no key at all on a capable phone (§41).

Q: Can Cielo see my screen?
A: Only if you make her your phone's assistant (Zenith Assist), and only at the moment you invoke her — never in the background. The floating bubble reads nothing (§45).

Q: What's the difference between "Zenith AI", "Ask the Sky" and "Zenith Assist"?
A: Zenith AI is the app; Ask the Sky is the invocation that summons the assistant from anywhere; Zenith Assist is the phone-assistant role she can fill. All three front Cielo (§05).

Q: Which launcher do I need for the icons?
A: Any that supports icon packs — Nova, Lawnchair, Niagara, Smart, or Zenith Launcher. The stock Pixel and Samsung home screens can't use icon packs at all (§49).

Q: How do I back up, or move to a new phone?
A: Each app exports a `.zbak` backup (and per-document files); restore it on the new device. Widgets and file-links are device-local, so re-add those. Or back up to your own Drive via Connections (§06).

Q: How do I get the apps?
A: Each app is on Google Play; install just the ones you want — every app stands alone.

Q: My icons didn't change after applying the pack.
A: Launchers cache icons — re-apply the pack (toggle it off and on) or reboot; stock Pixel/Samsung can't use packs at all (§49).

Q: A gesture won't work / nothing happens when I hold.
A: See §50, troubleshooting — usually a corner/edge zone, a too-short hold, or a permission not yet granted.

# PART X — safety & compliance

## 55 · ai safety & your rights

The AI runs through every app; this is a suite-level statement.

### On-device safety filter
- Zenith's AI is filtered for safety on your device. It is a safety floor — Zenith's own safeguard layered on top of the underlying model's own alignment. Not a guarantee the AI always understands; use judgement. The checks run every time.
- Two checks around every request:
  - Before the AI runs — the request is checked against Zenith's safety policy. A request for restricted content, or an attempt to bypass the AI's limits, is refused and never sent to any model — including requests to generate restricted images, video or audio, even in apps that don't create media.
  - Before you see or hear a reply — the response is checked too; a flagged reply is replaced with a short refusal rather than shown or spoken.
- Both checks happen locally — prompts are not sent to Black Syntax to be moderated.
- A safety log of blocks and anything you Report is kept only in that app's private storage on your phone. You can view a summary, export it, or clear it in the app's safety settings. (Launcher: `settings › ai safety` — blocked/reported counts, export the safety log, policy links.)

### "AI-generated" labelling
- Content the AI produces is labelled AI-generated.
- It can be inaccurate or invented — verify anything that matters.

### Not professional advice
- Do not treat AI output as professional (medical, legal, financial) advice.

### The in-app Report action
- Every AI reply has a Report action; flag anything offensive without leaving the app.
- Reporting logs the content on your device, removes it from the live conversation, and helps tighten the filters.

### Self-harm handling
- Zenith does not shut down conversations about self-harm — it responds with care.
- If you are in crisis: in the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
- If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

### What the AI won't do
- However phrased, Zenith refuses to generate — or help attempt — content involving: child safety (CSAE, zero tolerance); sexual content or non-consensual intimate imagery; hate and harassment; dangerous or illegal instructions; deception and impersonation for harm; self-harm facilitation; or jailbreak attempts.
- Creating or cloning your own voice for your own persona is allowed.

### Your data rights
- Everything stays on your device; nothing routes through a Zenith server (there isn't one).
- The safety log is yours to view, export, or clear in the app's safety settings.
- Privacy/data requests go through the support page.
