Zenith Suite — Privacy Policy
Publisher: Black Syntax Applies to: the Zenith Suite of Android apps — Zenith Launcher, Zenith Tasks, Zenith Mind, Zenith Calendar, Zenith Tulpa, Zenith Icon Set, and Zenith AI. Effective: 2 August 2026
The short version
Zenith runs on your device. Black Syntax does not operate servers that receive your content, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your notes, tasks, maps, calendar, personas, settings, AI keys, and linked-account tokens stay in each app's private storage on your phone. When you choose to use a cloud AI model with your own key, your request goes directly from your device to that AI provider under your own account — it does not pass through us.
What we collect
Nothing on our servers. The Zenith apps have no Black Syntax analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no account system operated by us. We do not receive your usage, content, or identity.
What lives on your device (and only there)
- Your app content — tasks, mind maps, calendar entries, personas/Tulpas, icons, and similar — in app-private storage.
- Settings and preferences, including notification toggles.
- AI API keys you enter — stored encrypted on-device, used only to call the provider you chose.
- Linked-account tokens (e.g. Google) — stored on-device and used to call that service directly (see "Linked accounts").
- On-device AI safety log — see "AI content safety."
Clearing an app's storage or uninstalling it removes this data. We keep no copy because we never had one.
AI processing
- On-device model. On capable devices, Zenith can run an on-device model (Gemini Nano) that processes your text locally — nothing leaves the phone.
- Your own cloud keys (BYO). If you configure your own API key for a provider (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, xAI, Mistral, DeepSeek, Groq, OpenRouter, Together), the app sends your prompt and the content you ask about directly to that provider under your account. Black Syntax does not receive, store, log, or route it. Your use of that provider is governed by their privacy policy and terms.
- We do not train any model on your data.
Linked accounts (Connections)
If you link a Google (or similar) account, the app stores the resulting authorization token on your device and uses it to talk to that service's API directly. Tokens are not sent to Black Syntax. We request the narrowest scopes needed (for example, file-scoped Drive access rather than full-drive), and you can unlink at any time in the app, which removes the stored token.
AI content safety
To meet Google Play's requirements and keep the experience safe, each app filters AI requests and responses on-device against a safety policy (see the Acceptable Use Policy and AI & Safety page). A local safety log records blocked attempts and any content you choose to Report, stored in that app's private storage on your device. It is not transmitted automatically. You can view a summary, export it, or clear it in the app's safety settings. If you voluntarily send us an export (e.g. by email) to help us improve filtering, we use it only for that purpose.
Permissions
Apps request only what a feature needs — for example, notifications (to deliver reminders you enable), or an account link you initiate. Denying a permission disables that feature but not the app.
Children
The Zenith Suite is a general-audience product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we collect nothing on our servers, no such data reaches us.
Your controls
- Delete your data: clear app storage or uninstall.
- Unlink accounts: remove any linked account in-app (deletes the on-device token).
- AI keys: remove any key you entered in-app.
- Safety log: view, export, or clear it in the app's safety settings.
Third-party AI providers
When you use your own key, that provider processes your request under its own policy. See the provider you chose (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Mistral, DeepSeek, Groq, OpenRouter, Together).
Changes
We will update this page for material changes and revise the effective date. Significant changes will be noted in-app or in release notes.
