What Ask the Sky can do

Ask the sky — the launcher's built-in AI assistant — can do more than answer questions. When you allow it, it acts through the launcher's own controls: the same things you could do by hand, done for you on request. Here's the range.

#Open and find things

• Open an app. Name an app and the assistant launches it.
• Search your apps. Ask what's installed and it searches deep sky — the full A–Z list of every app — by name.
• Open a launcher screen. It can jump you to a screen by name: the deep sky, Settings, the shuttle — the suite's shared tray — the ask panel, the region editor, the talisman screen (for drawn-shape shortcuts), or the add screen.
• Answer how-to questions. Ask how something works or where a control is, and the assistant looks it up in the built-in manual and tells you.

#Place and arrange your stars

A star is an app, folder, or shortcut you've placed on your sky — your home screen.

• Add a star. Place an app or a link in a region — a zone of the sky that groups stars — that you name.
• Edit a star. Rename it, reset its icon, or cycle its colour.
• Remove a star. Take one off the sky. (Destructive — see below.)
• Add a region. Open the next region, up to nine. Beyond the base count this needs (Gold).

#Manage your skies

A sky here also means a whole separate home layout — a star chart you switch between.

• Create a sky. Start a fresh, named layout.
• Switch skies. Move to another sky by name.
• Delete a sky. Remove one you don't need. (Destructive — see below. It won't delete your only sky.)

#Run and change things

• Run a ritual. Fire a ritual — a folder that opens everything inside it at once — by name.
• Set an icon pack. Change the icon pack for your app stars, or reset to the system icons.
• Change a setting. Read or change launcher settings by name. Some settings, and the non-free themes, need (Gold) — the assistant will say so.

#See your screen (only if you ask)

Turn on the "👁" eye in the ask panel and a description of your current screen rides along with each question, so the assistant can reason about what you're looking at. It's off by default, asks once before its first use, and you can switch it off anytime.

#What you allow it to do

Four independent switches, all on by default, shape what the assistant may do. Find them in Settings › ask the sky under "what it can do":

• "tools" — let it act through the app (add a star, switch sky…). Off, it can only advise.
• "↳ allow destructive actions" — let it remove stars and delete skies. This one is off by default. While off, the assistant asks you to turn it on before it removes or deletes anything, and the action is refused even if the assistant tries. This is the gate on every destructive action above.
• "guide" — let it teach you how to do things yourself.
• "converse" — let it hold an open, back-and-forth conversation. Off keeps replies short and task-focused.
