Coming from another launcher / new phone

Switching to Zenith, or moving it to a new phone? Here's how to bring your setup across. The right path depends on where you're coming from.

#Moving Zenith to a new phone

Zenith can pack your whole launcher into one file and rebuild it on another device.

On your old phone:

1. Open Settings › star chart.
2. Tap "back up all".
3. Choose where to save the file. Zenith writes a backup named "zenith-launcher-backup.zbak" to the spot you pick — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
4. Move that file to your new phone however you usually move files — a cloud drive, a cable, or a share.

On your new phone, once you've made Zenith your home screen:

1. Open Settings › star chart.
2. Tap "open…" and pick your backup file. (You can also tap the file in a file manager, or share it to Zenith — either one imports it right away.)
3. Your sky rebuilds in place.

What comes across, in the app's own words: "star charts, settings, talismans & custom icons travel. only widgets can't cross devices — their stars import but must be re-bound." So after a restore, place any widgets again.

#Sharing just one sky

To hand a single sky — one arrangement of your home screen — to someone else, or to keep one as a snapshot, tap "save this sky ✦" on the same page. That writes a smaller file holding one sky's layout, look, and icons. Opening a sky file adds it as a new sky and never overwrites the one you're using.

#Coming from a different launcher

If you're switching from a different launcher, there's an honest limit: Zenith can't read another launcher's layout, so your old grid doesn't import. You start with a clean sky — your home screen — and build it up. It's quick:

1. Make Zenith your default launcher. See Set Zenith as your default launcher.
2. On the welcome's last step, pick "starter ring ✦" for a ready-made set of apps, or "bare sky" to place your own.
