Widgets & floating widgets

What they are. A widget is a live panel from an app — a weather card, a calendar, a music player. In Zenith a widget lives as a star (a placed item) on your sky, and opens in its own floating window instead of sitting fixed in a grid.

#Adding a widget

Where. Open the add sheet on the ring where you want it and go to the "Widgets" tab. It lists every widget your installed apps offer. Pick one and Android's bind flow sets it up. The widget is now a star like any other.

#The floating window

What it is. Every widget opens in the same Zenith window: a rounded panel with a title bar. Releasing on a widget star opens its window.

Controls.

• Title bar — shows the widget's name. Drag it to move the window; the new spot is remembered.
• "⤢" — cycles the window through three sizes. The three are 260×170, 340×240, and 400×380 dp. Your choice is remembered.
• "✕" — closes the window.

#The window's color

Behavior. The window's background defaults to pure black. To change it, use Settings › system › floating window colour and pick from five presets: black, ink, charcoal, midnight, slate.
