Move a star

How-to
animationA star being dragged to a new position on its ring.Screenshot coming soon
Lifting a star onto the finger and dragging it to a new spot on the ring.

Moving a star — an app, folder, or shortcut — changes where it sits on its ring, the wheel of apps that blooms under your finger. You give it a new angle around the rim, a new orbit, or both.

Re-place it

  1. Press and hold empty sky — your home screen — to bloom the ring the star is on.
  2. Slide onto the star you want to move so it arms.
  3. Tap the re-place button on the ring dock with a second finger.
  4. On the placement screen, drag around the orbit to set the new angle.
  5. Drag in or out to set the new orbit — how far it sits from the center.
  6. Tap "place ✦".

The star settles into its new spot. To leave it where it was, tap "cancel" instead.
