The productivity sky
A productivity sky — your whole home screen — is about short paths. The apps and actions you reach for all day should be one gesture away in the ring — the wheel of apps that opens under your finger — and the routines you repeat should fire in one move. Here are the pieces that get you there.
Group work into folders, and let rituals open it all at once
A folder — a star (any app or group you place) that holds its own ring of stars — keeps a project's apps together. Turn a folder into a ritual and lifting on it opens everything inside, in order. One release brings up your whole "morning" or "focus" set instead of tapping through each app. Set the "ritual — release launches everything inside" toggle on any folder. See Stars — apps, folders & rituals.
Float the things you watch
Some apps you don't open so much as glance at — a calendar, a to-do list, a player. Add these as widgets and they open as small floating windows that sit over the sky. You can drag one where you like and cycle its size, so the things you keep an eye on stay in view while you work. See Widgets & floating widgets.
Bind your busiest apps to gestures
You don't have to open the ring for the app you use most. Any corner, edge, flick, or the double-tap can point straight at an app, folder, widget, shortcut, or system action. Bind your top few so they open with a single move, from anywhere on the sky. See Assign an action to a gesture and Corner & edge holds.
Draw a shortcut with a talisman
A talisman is a gesture shortcut — you draw a quick shape on the sky and it triggers its target. Inscribe one for an app or action you jump to often and reaching it becomes a single stroke, no ring and no menu. See Talismans — draw, inscribe, cast.
One tip. Fast comes from fewer choices, not more shortcuts. Pick the five things you truly do every day and make those instant — leave the long tail in the ring.
