After an update, X changed or broke
An update can move a control or show you a tip you haven't seen. Your setup itself — your skies (your separate home-screen setups), stars, and settings — lives on your device, so an update finds it where you left it. Here's how to get your bearings.
A coaching tip appeared
Zenith shows small one-time tips the first time you use a feature. Each fires once, and a tap marks it as seen — so they don't come back after an update. If one shows up, it's normal: read it and tap to dismiss.
A control moved
Some things shift between versions. The most common: changing a star's icon — a star is an app, folder, or shortcut you've placed — now lives under edit in the ring's corner dock. While the ring, a wheel of your apps, is held, the dock's four buttons are add, re-place (lift the armed star to a new angle or distance from the center), edit, and remove.
Something actually broke
- Back up your setup first — open the star chart page and tap "back up all" to save a .zbak file. See Backup / restore & new-phone data loss.
- Check what changed in the release notes — see Changelog.
- If a permission or service stopped after the update, re-grant it: comets, zenith actions, and the quick ring each need their system permission. See Zenith gets killed / notifications die after reboot.
