staticA hint on an empty home screen explaining the hold gesture.Screenshot coming soon
The starter hint on an empty sky telling you to press and hold.

A quick check that Zenith took over as your home screen and that the basics work. It takes about a minute. Start from anywhere on your phone.

Check it's your home screen

  1. Press the Home button, or use your phone's home swipe.
  2. Confirm you land on the sky — Zenith's home screen, a mostly empty dark surface.

If you land on the sky, Zenith is your default launcher. If you land somewhere else, it isn't set yet — see Set Zenith as your default launcher.

Check the core gesture works

  1. Press and hold anywhere on the empty sky.
  2. Watch for the ring — a wheel of your apps — to bloom under your finger.
  3. Slide onto any app and lift to open it, then press Home to come back.

If the ring blooms and an app opens, the one gesture everything is built on is working.

Find your way back to settings

Press and hold the lower-right corner of the sky to open settings. Zenith points this out the first time your sky appears, with a short note — "two things to know" — naming the settings corner and the circle you can draw to see all your apps. Tap the note to dismiss it.

Once Home lands on the sky and the ring blooms under your finger, you're set up. Next, learn the gesture properly in Zenith in 5 minutes — your first sky.
