Sky overlays — clock, date, weather, battery

What it is. Overlays are the small readouts drawn on the sky — your home screen — over the empty space: the clock, date, weather, battery, and your next calendar event. You choose which show, and where. They all live in Settings › sky overlays.

#Position & brightness

Position. "position on screen" is a 3×3 grid; tap a cell to anchor the whole block there. The default is bottom-center. Find it at Settings › sky overlays › position on screen.

Brightness. "brightness" sets how bright the overlay text is, from 40% to 180%. Default 100%. Raise it if the block feels too dim to read. Find it at Settings › sky overlays › brightness.

#What to show

Each of these is a simple on/off toggle in Settings › sky overlays.

Clock. "clock" shows the time. On by default.

24-hour time. "24-hour time" switches the clock from 12-hour to 24-hour. Off by default.

Date. "date" shows the date. On by default.

Battery. "battery" shows the battery level. Off by default.

#Overlays that ask permission

Two overlays read personal signals, so turning one on asks Android for a permission first. The read stays on your phone.

Next calendar event. "next calendar event" shows your soonest event. Turning it on requests calendar access, and the overlay only appears once you allow it. Off by default.

Weather. "weather" shows the current temperature and conditions. Turning it on requests approximate ("coarse") location. Off by default. Your position is rounded to about a kilometre before it is sent, and it goes only to the free Open-Meteo weather service — no account, no key, no identifier. Precise location never leaves the device. Tap the overlay to refresh it.

Celsius. "celsius" reads the weather in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. It appears only while weather is on, and is on by default.
