Accessibility & motion
Zenith is built on holding and sliding, but you can reshape that for easier reach, clearer sight, calmer motion, and slower timing. Every option here is optional and off by default. They all live in Settings › accessibility.
Motor & touch
Dwell to select. "dwell to select — rest to launch, no lift" opens a star by resting on it, with no need to lift your finger. Turning it on reveals a "dwell time (ms)" slider — how long you rest before it opens — from 400 to 2500 ms, default 900.
Latched buttons. "latched buttons — tap ‹ back and ◉ activate" keeps the ring — the wheel of apps that opens under your finger — open after you lift. Then you tap stars to choose, "◉" to open, and "‹" to go back, so nothing needs a sustained hold.
Touch target size. "touch target size" grows the tap area around each star, from 1.0 up to 2.5 times, so near-misses still land.
Vision
Magnifier. "magnifier — swell the hovered star" swells whichever star your finger is over to the front, so you can see what you're about to open.
Spoken labels. "spoken labels — read the star aloud" reads a star's name aloud as you explore the ring, for screen-reader use.
High contrast. "high contrast — pure white light" draws the sky's light in pure white for the strongest contrast. It overrides your accent colour.
Text sizes. "star label text size" (0.70–2.50×) and "clock & overlay text size" (0.60–2.00×) enlarge on-screen text for reading. These are separate from the styling sliders on the Fonts page — see Fonts & text size.
Remove glows. "remove glows" strips the glow effects from stars and orbits, for a flatter, plainer sky. It overrides the glow sliders in the look settings.
Motion
Reduce motion. "reduce motion — calm sparks, trails, pulses" calms Zenith's animation. It overrides the sparks and trails effects off. See Personalization — themes, icons & effects.
Timing
Under "extended · timing" you can slow or speed individual gestures:
- "ring opens after (ms)" — the same hold delay found on Settings › rings & effects, offered here with a longer reach (120–600 ms) for a slower, more deliberate hold.
- "folder ring blooms after (ms)" — the pause before a folder opens (150–1200 ms, default 330).
- "double-tap window (ms)" — how quickly two taps must land to count as a double-tap (200–700 ms, default 340).
The comet catch tolerance is set separately, on the comets settings — see Comets & notifications.
Haptics
The "haptics" section explains Zenith's per-star vibration signatures and how it works with TalkBack announcements, so you can feel and hear your way around the sky.
