All apps — Deep Sky & the star index
What they are. Two ways to reach every app you have, without placing each one on the sky (your home screen). Deep sky is the full A–Z list. The star index is a quick A–Z picker that fans out under your finger. Neither needs you to have made a star for the app first.
Deep Sky — the full app list
What it is. A searchable list of every installed app: tap one to open it. Its header reads "· deep sky ·". It is also the one surface that can always reach settings, so no gesture or corner choice can ever lock you out.
How to open it. By default, flick up from the sky. You can also bind deep sky to any corner, edge, or gesture, or place it as a star.
What's inside.
- "zenith settings" — a ✦-marked row pinned above the app list that opens the settings sheet.
- Zenith apps — the suite's own apps can appear as a row of icons above the list, or floated to the top, depending on your choice (see below).
- App rows — tap to open; press and hold for a per-app menu. Work-profile apps are tagged "· work".
- "search the sky" — a search field at the bottom that filters by name; the keyboard only rises when you tap it.
The per-app menu (press and hold an app). Titled with the app's name, it offers "open", "view app info", "◈ set icon" (change the app's icon everywhere it appears), "inscribe talisman for this" (draw a gesture shortcut for it), "hide from deep sky", and "uninstall…".
Show Zenith apps your way. Settings › regions & star index › zenith apps in deep sky chooses how the suite's own apps appear: as the first entries, as an icon row, or off.
The star index — a quick A–Z picker
What it is. The star index shows every installed app grouped into letter buckets — like "A" or "C–E" — fanned out on a curve at the right edge of the screen. Open a bucket and its apps fan out farther in rows. It's built for reaching a rarely-used app fast, without a full list.
Three ways to open it, all set at Settings › regions & star index › star index · all apps:
- Draw a quick circle — turn on "draw a quick circle to open", then loop your finger on the sky.
- Drag in from the right edge — turn on "drag in from the right edge", then start near the right edge and pull inward.
- Give it a region — pick one region in the region-chooser row; holding in that region shows the index instead of that region's ring.
