Sound & the journal's voice
Every action in the Journal makes a small sound and a small vibration together, so nothing is said by sound alone or by touch alone. settings › "the journal's voice" — "sound · haptics · who reads aloud" — sets them.

The journal's voice
The Journal's own sounds are a glass-like chime, made on the phone. Notes come from the scale you chose, so sweeping a finger across the year comes out as music. "open", "deep" and "dawn" never clash; "floating" and "veiled" do, on purpose.
- Each month that reaches the middle as you turn the year plays one note.
- Tapping a star, or reaching it as you drag, plays the note of its month.
- Placing a star, drawing a tie, an arrival, turning a page and saving each have their own sound.
- Every way back plays the same rising two notes, once per back, with a tick.
The suite's cues
Opening, adding, removing, moving between views and opening ask the sky play the suite's own short cues, at the journal's volume — the same in every Zenith app. See Sound across the suite.
Polite by design
The sounds play on the phone's touch-feedback sounds, so silencing the phone silences them, and they never pause your music.
Haptics
A light or firm tick with each action, while "haptics" is on. Dragging through the sky gives a separate bump texture, set on the ease page — "scrub texture", "texture strength" and "bump spacing". See Ease.
Who reads aloud
"who reads aloud" names the tulpa — the suite's word for the AI who answers — whose voice reads ask the sky's answers aloud: Cielo, unless Zenith AI has made someone else the active one. It changes only in Zenith AI.
