Hide an entry

How-to

A hidden entry stays yours and stays where it is — in the sky, the list and its journals — but is kept out of the places that show your writing beyond it.

Hide it

  1. Open the entry's ⋯ menu — from a row in the list, a journal's page, or "more ⋯" on a star's card.
  2. Tap "hide it · from insights, the widget, notices, the ai and the shuttle".

The line says "hidden · it stays here, and nowhere else", with "undo" — and the "undo" button at the top right offers it too, until you leave that screen. See Undo & earlier versions.

Where a hidden entry doesn't show

  • insights — never counted or shown;
  • the widgets — the home-screen widget and a journal's constellation widget never draw it;
  • notices — no "a year ago" notice is about it;
  • the reader's subjects;
  • "used before:" — the tags compose offers never include a hidden entry's;
  • ask the sky — the sky can't see it, and its ⋯ menu has no "ask the sky about it";
  • a journal you share — its file, its reel and its signature leave the entry and its lines out;
  • the shuttle — "onto the shuttle" says "a hidden entry stays off the shuttle".

It is still in the sky, the list and its journals, and in every backup.

Stop hiding it

Open its ⋯ menu again. The line now reads "stop hiding it". Tap it: "no longer hidden".

Only you can stop hiding an entry. Ask the sky can hide one, but never sees it again after, so un-hiding is yours alone.

Hidden is not…
