Ask the sky in Tasks

Explanation

Ask the sky is Tasks' AI. You tell your sky what to build or change in plain words, and it does it — adding, finding, changing, moving and linking tasks, working with your skies, building cards, changing settings, and most of what you can do around the sky.

It answers as the Zenith suite's active persona — Cielo unless you chose another. How the assistant works across the suite is on Ask the Sky across the suite.

Where you ask

  • The ask the sky button, top right of the main screen. It shows only while settings › "ask the sky" › "zenith ai in this app" is on.
  • "ask the sky" on a task's edit sheet — opens it focused on that task and the ones inside it.
  • "✦ ask the sky" on a shuttle row — opens it and sends that row's words straight away.
  • "ask the sky about it ✦" on something shared into Tasks.
  • "✦ ask the sky to build a card" in settings › "files" — opens it with "build me a card for " waiting in the box.

The chat

The top row:

  • "ask the sky"
  • the eye — on, the task you're looking at rides along with what you ask. The first time: "the sky will now read what's on your screen along with your message."
  • "lens" — only when Zenith AI is installed. It turns its lenses on and off.
  • the speaker — mutes or unmutes the replies read aloud. Muting stops the voice mid-sentence.
  • the model's name — a menu of models, with ✓ on those with a key.

"remember this chat ✦" keeps the talk (Gold). See Chat memory (Gold).

With more than one sky open, "work across every open sky" — "the sky can see and switch to every open sky." or "just the sky you're looking at." — and, when on, "come back to the sky you were on". See The ask the sky settings.

The talk. Empty, it suggests: "tell me what to build or change — e.g. “add an errands node with milk, stamps, and dry cleaning”, or “what’s left on work?”". Your words and its replies show as bubbles, with "working…" while it works.

Type in "talk to your sky…" and send, or tap the microphone to speak. If nothing was sent, your words come back to the box.

"↶ undo what the sky just did" appears under the talk when an ask changed something. One tap takes back everything that ask changed in the sky on screen. See Deleting asks first, and undo.

At the bottom: "✦ AI-generated — verify anything that matters before you rely on it.", with "acceptable use" and "AI safety".

Report a reply

"⚑ Report" sits under every reply. A reported reply is never sent to the AI again: "reported — thank you. it won't be sent back to the AI." The report also teaches the filter, so the same kind of text is caught later. What a report teaches blocks later replies only — never what you ask, even if the reply quoted your words.

Every ask is checked before it goes, and every reply before it shows or is spoken. A blocked one is replaced by a refusal: "I can't generate a response to this request. (Zenith safety policy: …)". See AI safety — Zenith Guard & consent.

Read aloud

While "read replies aloud" is on — as it starts — each reply is spoken in your persona's voice. Only a reply that passed the safety check is spoken. A new reply cuts off the one before.

Choose the model

settings › "ask the sky" › "model" opens "AI model" — "your model is shared across the zenith suite. follow zenith AI automatically, or set a specific model of choice here."

  • "sync with zenith AI (automatic)" follows the suite's model. It starts here.
  • "or choose a model" — each one says "on-device · no key", "key set ✓" or "needs a key". Tap one to choose it.
  • A chosen model with no key shows "connect ‹model›", with an "api key" box, "get a key" and "save". A key that doesn't save says "that key didn't save. try again."
  • "done", back, or swiping the page away returns you to settings › "ask the sky".

The choice is the suite's, so it changes for the other Zenith apps too. A key typed in any Zenith app works in all of them. See Shared keys & connected accounts.

With no model ready, the chat shows the key setup instead: "paste api key" and "save key".

What it can do

In plain words, on What the sky can do — tasks and What the sky can do — skies, settings & more. A page or another app it opens for you opens once its reply is done.

What stays yours

Choosing its model, typing keys, the ⚑ report, reading or editing what it remembers, lenses, and switching on the switches only you can turn on. Opening the chat itself is your own tap.
