Tasks words

Reference

The words Zenith Tasks uses, in plain terms. Words shared by every Zenith app are in Glossary.

Actuation — a saved list that gathers the tasks matching your keywords or categories. The tasks stay in the sky; ticking one off here completes that star everywhere. See Actuations.

Archive — where retired and swept tasks are kept, each with the reason why. See Delete, retire & the archive.

Ask the sky — Tasks' AI chat. You say what you want and it works on your tasks for you. See Ask the sky in Tasks.

Bloom — the rings that open where you touch, outward from your finger. See The bloom.

Card — a small interactive panel a star can carry, built by ask the sky. See Cards & email drafts.

Demo content — someone else's sky to explore — skies, talismans, archived tasks and templates — that the app adds only when you ask, on the welcome card or in settings › "files". It never counts toward the free limits, its reminders never ring, and removing it takes away only what it brought. See The tutorial sky & demo content.

Dock — the column of buttons up the left edge while a bloom is open: ✚ add · • details · edit · move · − remove. See The dock buttons.

Focus deck — your open tasks one card at a time: swipe right to complete, left to skip. See Focus & the focus deck.

Full bloom — the bloom with every path open at once. See Full bloom & pinch.

Gate — a node that can only be completed once the stars inside it are done: "complete only when the stars inside are done". When the last task inside is done, it completes by itself. See Nodes & gates.

List view — the same sky as an indented list instead of the bloom. See List view.

Matrix — your open tasks that hold no others, sorted into four boxes by urgent and important (Gold). See The matrix (Gold).

Node — a task that holds others: "a star that holds others is a node." See Nodes & gates.

Orbit — how far out from its ring's centre a star sits. See The bloom.

Priority — a task you marked as important: "★ priority — mark as important". The "★ priority" list shows them. See Priority & the ★ list.

Region — a part of the screen with its own bloom, holding its own top-level tasks. A sky can have up to 9; 2 are free, more are Gold. See Regions.

Ring — one level of the bloom: the tasks inside one place, laid round a centre.

Shuttle — the one list of things in transit between your Zenith apps: what you caught, waiting to be made into a star or sent on. See The Shuttle in Tasks.

Sky — one whole Tasks file: every task in it, under a hidden top whose title is the sky's name. Without Gold, 3 of your own skies can be open at once; the tutorial sky and demo skies don't count. See Open & closed skies.

Star — how a task is drawn in the bloom: "stars are the things to do". See Reading a star.

Talisman — a rule you write: when something happens, do something. 3 are free; more are Gold. Talismans that came with the demo content don't count, and go when it is removed. See Talismans.

Task — one thing to do. Every task is the same kind of item, at any depth.

Template — a saved task shape, a task and everything inside it, to stamp out again. See Templates.

Tutorial sky — "a sky whose tasks teach the moves": "✦ Learn Zenith Tasks". It comes only when you ask, on the welcome card or in settings › "files". It never counts toward the free limits, and its reminders never ring. See The tutorial sky & demo content.

Waiting — a task you're waiting on someone or something for — not open, not done. See Words, colours & marks on a task.

.zbak — the one file that backs up every sky and the settings. It keeps which skies are the tutorial sky or demo skies.

.ztd — a node and everything inside it, saved as a file, to add into another sky.

.zts — a sky saved as a file.

Zenith Gold — Tasks' own one-time purchase, $1.99, that lifts this app's limits — "never a subscription, and never shared with the other zenith apps." See Zenith Gold in Tasks.
