Arriving files & shares
Whatever another app hands the calendar — a file, some text, an "add to calendar", a hand-over from a sibling Zenith app — is read and shown to you first. Nothing becomes anything until you say what it is.
What can arrive
- "Add to calendar" from any app. A new commitment's editor opens — a commitment is anything on your calendar — filled from what the other app sent: the title (or "new commitment"), the day and time, and the description and place in the notes, with the place marked "⌖". All-day stays all-day. Only what arrives with the request is read; the phone's calendars are not opened for it.
- "Open the calendar at this moment." Another app asking to show a moment takes you to that day with its day brief — the list of that day's commitments along the bottom of the screen — pinned open.
- Selected text. Select text anywhere and choose "Zenith Calendar". You see "the sky reads it…", then a new commitment's editor opens with the date and time it found.
- Shared text opens the "something arrives" sheet, below.
- A sibling's hand-over. A Zenith app handing across a task or a note opens a new commitment's editor with its title, note and time filled. The new commitment keeps a link back to the item.
- Silent links. A sibling app can attach a link to one of your commitments or journal entries without opening anything. Only a proper Zenith link is kept, and the notice says "linked from ‹app›".

If one of these arrives while settings is open, the editor opens in front of it. One back leaves the editor, and settings is there as you left it.
How the words are read
If "zenith ai in this app" is on, the suite's AI switch is on, the chosen service is ready and you have said yes to sending, the AI reads the words and fills the title, date, time and notes. The editor says when the AI filled a form.
Otherwise nothing is sent to any AI. The phone's own offline reading fills only the date, time and title.
"something arrives" — shared text
Share text from any app and choose "Zenith Calendar", including from the phone's suggested share row. The sheet shows "something arrives" and up to four lines of the words:

Cancelling the editor brings you back to this sheet. Once the words are placed, backing out does not offer them again. If the phone closes the app while the sheet waits, you are asked again when you return.
Files
Where they come in. The binder panel's "bring in an almanac from a file", Settings › files › "open an almanac…", or tapping the file in another app. Files can arrive one or several at a time.
- An almanac file. An almanac is one of your calendars, a named, coloured layer of commitments. You see "an almanac arrived" (or "N almanacs arrived") and "nothing is added until you make it an almanac." Each shows its name, how many commitments it holds, and whether its material — its attached files — comes too. Tap "make it an almanac", or "not now". It always lands as a new almanac beside the others, never over one. Without Gold, once three of your own almanacs exist, the Gold offer opens instead and the row waits.
- A commitment card. "place “‹title›” on…" lists the almanacs that can take it, the same-named one first, plus "make a new almanac for it". A locked almanac, an archived one, and one fed by a read-only calendar cannot take a card.
- A pack of material (.zen). It joins its almanac. If that almanac is not here yet, you are told to open its .zca and make it an almanac first.
What is refused
- A whole-calendar backup — install it from Settings › files instead.
- A journal — journals are opened by the app that wrote them; the calendar cannot take one in.
- A card or material for a locked almanac — "“‹name›” is locked — unlock it first".
- Anything else — "the calendar does not know that file", or "could not open that file".
