Quick add, the tile & the bubble
Quick add is one box that catches a thought from anywhere and puts it on the shuttle — the suite's shared list of things in transit between Zenith apps. From there you make it a star when you're ready.
Ways to open quick add
- the floating bubble — below
- the "Zenith Tasks" quick-settings tile — below
- the "add task" widget, or the tasks widget's "+" — see Widgets
- long-press the Tasks icon › "quick capture"
Use it
The card says "quick add", with "what needs doing? (try “fri 3pm weekly”)".
- Type. As you type, a line underneath shows the date or repeat it read.
- Tap "add to the shuttle". It works only with something in the box.
Your words go on the shuttle as typed. "cancel" closes the card.
Make it a star
On the shuttle, "make it a star" — or dragging the row onto a node in the bloom — makes a star. The first line is its title and the rest its note. The date and repeat the hint line showed are set, and a time still to come gets a reminder. See The Shuttle in Tasks.
The quick-settings tile
A tile in the phone's pull-down quick settings, labelled "Zenith Tasks", opens quick add from anywhere.
- Pull down the quick settings and tap the pencil (edit). This is Android's own screen.
- Drag "Zenith Tasks" into your tiles.
Tap it, and the shade closes and quick add opens over whatever you're doing.
Tasks has a second tile, "places", which switches place reminders — see Place reminders.
The floating bubble
A small "✦" bubble that floats over every app. Tap it to catch a thought.
Start it: settings › "capture" › "start the floating bubble" — "capture over any app".
- The bubble starts near the top left. Drag it anywhere. Where you leave it isn't remembered the next time it starts.
- Tap it and quick add opens over whatever you're in.
- While it's on, a quiet notification shows "Zenith Tasks capture" — "tap the bubble to add · “stop” ends it", with a "stop" button.
Stop it: the notification's "stop", or settings › "capture" › "stop the bubble". "stop the bubble" only ends a bubble that's running; it never starts one. Until you stop it, Android brings it back if it's closed.
