Zenith Gold in the calendar
There is one edition of Zenith Calendar. Zenith Gold — the one-time paid upgrade — opens it in full for $1.99. You pay once, for this app, and it is yours for good. It is never a subscription.
Gold is never shared with the other Zenith apps. Each sells its own, and unlocking one never unlocks another. Every list of Gold in the app ends with the same line: "calendar gold stands alone — $1.99, once, this app's forever". How Gold works across the family is on Zenith Gold across the suite.
The nine things Gold opens
As the app's own list names them:
| in the app's words | what it means |
|---|---|
| "more than three almanacs" | as many almanacs as you like. Three are free. |
| "sending an almanac" | one almanac as a file, out or in, and the export door on an almanac's own page |
| "chat memory" | the sky — the calendar's AI assistant — remembers your talks |
| "every sky — including the living iridescent" | clean, mono and pastel come with the app. Gold opens the other seven, including the iridescent one, whose colours drift with real time. |
| "my sky — the real stars over where you are" | the real constellations over your latitude |
| "the vivid colours" | the deeper half of the palette an almanac or a single commitment can draw in |
| "a picture as an almanac's mark" | any photo on this phone instead of a glyph |
| "folds & tablets" | the docket — the view on one side of a wide screen, and the commitment, editor or binder on the other |
| "other calendar systems" | the calendar reckoned in another tradition, from chinese and hebrew to persian, vikram samvat and bahá'í |
An almanac is a named, coloured layer of commitments, like one calendar. Where each of these lives: Skies, colours & my sky, Folds, tablets & wide screens and Calendar systems & names.
The three free almanacs count what you make
The almanacs the app ships with never count toward the three. Neither do the built-in "personal" and "work", nor the demo almanacs. A copy of a demo almanac you send to somebody arrives as their own, and counts there.
If you already have more than three of your own, they are kept and keep working. Only making another one raises the question.
Backing up your whole calendar, and installing a backup again, are free, always. Sending or taking in one almanac on its own is Gold. See Backup, restore & sending an almanac.
What stays free
In the app's own words on the Gold page: "every view, every kind of commitment, reminders, the widget, the tile, cielo, and restoring a backup are free — and stay free. gold lifts this app's caps."
When you reach for something Gold holds
A sheet opens at once, naming the thing you reached for:
- "✦ zenith gold", with the gold star ✦.
- ""[the thing you reached for]" is part of zenith gold."
- One starred line for each of the nine, with the thing you reached for moved to the top.
- "· unlock zenith gold · $1.99 ·" and "one-time. not a subscription."
- "· not now ·" to close it.
Tapping the price goes to the Play Store. If the store answers but has no such product, one short line says "the store doesn't list calendar gold yet".
If you ask the sky out loud for something Gold holds, it refuses in words naming the same line, rather than opening the sheet.
The Gold page
It is at settings › "zenith gold" — hold the gear ⚙ for the settings book. The row reads "zenith gold", lined "what it opens · $1.99, once". Once Gold is yours, it reads "zenith gold ✦", lined "yours — what it opens".
The page says what Gold is and lists the same nine things. It carries:
- "✦ unlock calendar gold · $1.99", while Gold is not yours;
- "restore a purchase", always. It asks the store what this account already owns.
That same check also runs quietly every time the app starts, so a purchase comes back by itself on a new phone.
On a phone with no Play Store, both buttons say so rather than seeming to do nothing: "there's no play store on this phone — gold is bought through it".
Two Gold things reached from this page
- "chat memory — the sky remembers" — a switch that works only once Gold is yours. See Chat memory & interpret screen.
- "folds & tablets" — a row that opens a page of its own. You can read that page without Gold. See Folds, tablets & wide screens.
