A commitment's page

A commitment — anything on your calendar, an event or a thing to do — has its own full-screen page. The app calls it "the takeover". It is a page to read, not an editor. It shows one day: the day you opened it from, or the nearest time it happens to the day you are looking at.

#Ways in

• Tap a row twice in the brief — the list of a day's commitments along the bottom of the screen.
• Tap an item in the fan — a picked day's commitments spread inside the year ring.
• Tap one in the list of an almanac — one of your calendars, a named, coloured layer of commitments.
• Tap one on tomorrow, in a reminder, or in a widget row.

Edit, ask the sky — the calendar's built-in AI assistant — the journal and the almanac open over the page and come back to it. "view in" closes the page and goes to that view.

#The blocks

The title comes first. The blocks follow in the order the page's look sets. The kind uses three names: a meteor is a commitment that happens once, an asteroid one that repeats, and a fixed star one that comes back every year.

If nothing on the phone can open maps or that kind of file, the page says so.

A "what you fill in" section that you built always shows. One an AI made shows only while ask the sky is on. It reads "✦ made by the sky — ai-generated · verify what matters", with "⚑" to report it in one tap.

#The corners

• Top left: ‹ "back".
• Top right: "AI" — ask the sky about this one, shown only with the assistant on — and "shuttle" with its count. The Shuttle is the suite's shared tray for passing text and files between Zenith apps.
• Bottom left: ✎ "edit", and ⊕ "expand". There is no "edit" on the calendar's own entries, such as holidays.
• Bottom right: ↗ "take it elsewhere" — "↗ share", "→ zenith tasks" (only with Zenith Tasks installed), "⇪ hold in the shuttle" and "⊐ send it as a card".

Pictures. One of the commitment's own pictures can stand behind the page under a dark veil. On a wide screen with "a commitment's page, wide: beside the details" (Gold), the picture — or a map of its place — takes one half.

#⊕ "expand"

Headed "EXPAND · ‹title›":

• "⊕ material" and "⊕ what to fill in". Each adds " · N" once it has some.
• "◇ ‹look›" — the look the page wears.
• Going out — only when its almanac is plugged into a calendar that takes changes. "⇄ goes out · as its almanac says", "⇤ this one stays in zenith" or "⇥ this one goes out". The first tap does the opposite of the almanac. Later taps run through "goes out" and back to "as its almanac says".
• Detail — only when it really goes out and its almanac does not travel (move its commitments into a Google calendar). "⇄ detail · as its almanac says", "⊘ this one goes plain" or "⊕ this one carries detail". Each tap says the new answer.
• "✎ write about this" — opens the journal about this commitment. Always there.

The calendar's own entries, such as a holiday or a solstice, show only "✎ write about this".

#How this one looks

"◇ ‹look›" opens "HOW THIS ONE LOOKS". A look is a template that sets the background, the title, an ornament and the order of the blocks.

• "as its almanac does" — the page wears its almanac's look. A page wears its own look first, then its almanac's, then the default.
• Four looks come with the app: "the glow", "the halo", "the plate" and "the field", plus any you add.
• "BG IMAGE" — only when the commitment carries pictures. A "bg image" switch, and ★ / ☆ to choose which one.
• "leave it" closes, "keep" saves.

#On a locked almanac

The lock — a locked almanac refuses every change until you unlock it — shuts every door that would change this page. Edit, material, fill-in, look, going-out choices and answers all wear a padlock. They say the almanac's name, then "is locked — unlock it first". The journal row stays open.
