Journal Gold
Journal gold — the Journal's one-time paid upgrade, which the Gold sheet calls Journal Gold — costs $1.99. You pay once, for this app, and it is yours for good. It is never a subscription.
Journal gold is never shared with the other Zenith apps. Each sells its own, and unlocking one never unlocks another. The app says it in its own words: "journal gold stands alone — $1.99, once, this app's forever". How Gold works across the family is on Zenith Gold across the suite.
What stays free
The standard features are free. What needs building, the expandable features and bring to life are Gold.
- Ease — the accessibility page — is always free.
- Anything you received plays free, and reading a pop-up is free for anyone.
- Nothing you already chose is taken away.
- Backing up the whole app is free.
What Gold opens
As the app's own list names them:

How a Gold thing looks
A Gold thing is marked ✦ before you tap it — "✦ gold" after a name, or "✦ locked by gold — …" above a setting. Insights stays in the view switch with its ✦ rather than hiding.
A Gold theme or my sky you already chose keeps drawing if Gold is ever lost; losing Gold never leaves the app looking broken.
When you reach for something Gold holds
Tap any ✦ without Gold and the Gold sheet opens on that feature. The sheet carries the Journal's own name for its gold:
- "✦ journal gold"
- "‹thing› is part of Journal Gold." — the thing you reached for at the top of the list
- the list, each with a ✦
- "Unlock Journal Gold — $1.99" and "One-time purchase, not a subscription."
- "Not now"
The foot reads "journal gold stands alone — $1.99, once, this app's forever", and after a tap, what the store says: "journal gold is yours ✦", "waiting for the payment to clear", "there's no play store on this phone — gold is bought through it", or "the store doesn't list journal gold yet".
A swipe down, back, or "Not now" closes it. The price is the store's, in your own money, once it answers; $1.99 stands until then.
The Gold page
settings › "journal gold". The row reads "journal gold", lined "what it opens · $1.99, once". Once Gold is yours it reads "journal gold ✦", lined "yours — what it opens".
- The page says "what journal gold opens. one payment, this app, forever — never a subscription, and never shared with the other zenith apps."
- One row per Gold feature, marked ◇ until bought and ✦ after — by shape, not colour. Each says where the feature lives; a row with "›" takes you to that settings page.
- "✦ unlock journal gold · $1.99" — opens the Gold sheet. You buy it through the Play Store.
- "restore a purchase" — "asking the store…", then Gold opens with "journal gold is yours ✦", or "waiting for the payment to clear", or "this account hasn't bought journal gold".
The same restore runs quietly every time the app starts. If the store no longer lists a purchase — a refund — Gold closes; what you already chose stays.
Ask the sky and Gold
Ask the sky can say what journal gold opens, where each thing lives, its price and whether this phone has it, open the Gold page, and restore a purchase made before. Buying is yours alone. When you ask it for something Gold holds without Gold, it says so in words instead of opening the sheet.
