Sound & the calendar's voice
The calendar has two layers of sound. One is its own glass-like voice, made on the phone with no recordings. The other is the suite's short recorded cues, for taps, clicks, opens, closes, adds, removes and errors. Both sit under the one sound switch every Zenith app shares.

The controls
- "sound — everywhere in zenith" — the one sound switch shared by every Zenith app. Off here is off across the suite. It governs both layers and the back sound. On by default. While it is off, "volume" and "the scale it plays" are hidden. How the switch works across apps is on Sound across the suite.
- "volume" — one slider for both layers. It sits under your phone's media volume. The default is halfway.
- "the scale it plays" — five chips: "open", "deep", "floating", "dawn" and "veiled". The chosen one wears ✓, and the default is "open". Picking one plays a short three-note phrase. The scale is kept per app, so the calendar can be in a different key from your home screen.
- "haptics" — on by default. A light tick on a tap, a stronger buzz on a hold. The scrub texture and the bump of landing on a commitment need it too. The same switch is on the ease page.
- "the tulpa speaks its replies" — on by default. Each reply from ask the sky — the calendar's built-in AI assistant, voiced by Cielo — is also spoken aloud. Turn it off and speech stops at once. The 🔊/🔇 button in the ask sheet flips the same setting.
The scales
The five scales come in the same order as in Zenith Launcher, so a scale means the same thing on your home screen and on the sky — the calendar screen, one canvas that becomes each view.
Sweep a finger across a month and it comes out as music, not one noise per day.

What you hear
- Where it plays. On the media stream, so your volume buttons reach it. It never takes over your audio, so your music keeps playing. The voice starts when the app comes to the front and stops when it leaves.
- Notes. Scrubbing and picking play notes pitched by where they fall: the month, the weekday, the hour. An empty day answers an octave lower and softer, so silence never feels like a control that stopped working.
- Moves. Flying into the earth or moon plays a rising pair. Going back out plays a falling pair. Entering the years view and grabbing the month's moon play a low swell; leaving the years plays the falling pair.
- Back. A falling pair plays once on every back: the phone's back, every ‹, a closed sheet, a cancelled edit. It does not play on the back that leaves the app.
- Placed, burned, refused. A bright shatter when a commitment — anything on your calendar — is placed. A low resolve when one is burned (deleted). A low, unsettled pair for anything refused.
By asking. Ask the sky can turn sound on or off, set the volume, pick the scale, switch haptics and choose whether replies are spoken.
