The docket, the second sky & the desk clock

On a wide screen or a fold, the calendar can split into two halves, show a second sky, and turn a half-closed fold into a desk clock. All three are (Gold).

Where. Settings › zenith gold › folds & tablets: "wide screens: docket", "the sky sits on the: left / right", "the docket at rest", "the second view" and "half-closed like a laptop: desk clock".

#The docket (Gold)

The sky — the calendar screen, one canvas that becomes each view — sits on one side. The docket — a black side panel — sits on the other. The day's details rest there, and every sheet, page and editor opens beside the sky instead of over it.

• When. On a wide screen, such as an unfolded fold, a tablet or a big phone on its side, with "wide screens: docket" chosen. It stands down while the desk clock is up.
• At rest it shows the day's details: the whole brief, the list of the day's commitments, every row. Or, with "the docket at rest: a second view", a second sky.
• Rooms. Settings, the binder (where all your almanacs live), a commitment's page, the editor, dialogs and sheets open as pages in the docket. They stay put when you turn the phone. Tomorrow's sheet fills the docket's side too.
• Editing beside the page. While the editor is open over a commitment's page, the page moves to the sky's side and shows what you type. Nothing really changes until you tap "keep".
• The divider. Drag its middle to size the halves. The sky keeps between a third and three-quarters of the screen. It starts at 60% and remembers where you left it. Tap the grip to let the docket fill the screen, and again to put it back. On a fold held like a book, the divider sits on the fold.

#Drag a commitment onto a day

With the docket open, you can carry a commitment — anything on your calendar — from the day's details to another day on the sky.

1. Hold a row in the docket's day details and move your finger. It lifts off as its name on a dark pill. (Held still and let go, it opens the row's menu instead.)
2. Let go on the new day. On the year, drop on the day on the ring under your finger; it forgives a little distance. On the week or month, drop on the cell. On the day view, drop at the hour on the rim.
3. If the commitment repeats, choose "this one repeats" — only that day, or every one of them.
4. The calendar confirms, for example "moved to thu 3 oct", or says why it could not move: a lock, or a pattern kept in one of the phone's own calendars.

The years view refuses a drop with "let go on a day to move it there". Only the main sky takes a drop, never the second sky.

#The second sky (Gold)

A second, separate sky beside the first: the year beside a month, a week beside a day. Turn it on with "the docket at rest: a second view".

• "the second view" — year, month, week or day. The default is month.
• One chosen day. Pick a day in either sky and the other moves to it, each keeping its own view.
• Touch. It does everything the main sky does. A commitment picked in it opens its page beside the main sky. Double-tap to return it to the view you chose for it.
• What it does not do. It takes no drop. It does not start the calendar's voice, though its taps still tick and play their cues.

#The desk clock (Gold)

Stand a fold half-closed like a laptop. The flat half becomes a clock and the sky keeps the upright half. Turn it on with "half-closed like a laptop: desk clock".

• The time, large, in 24-hour or 12-hour form as your phone is set.
• The date, as weekday and date.
• What is next today, with how long until it, then the one after, such as "in 2h 5m" or "in 12 min". Tap one to open its page. With nothing left, it reads "nothing else today".

While the clock is up, the day's list and the docket stand down. The corner buttons stay in their corners.
