Regions

How-to

A region is a part of the screen with its own bloom. Touch inside a region and the bloom — the rings of your tasks that open where you touch — shows that region's own top-level tasks.

A sky starts with 1 region: the whole screen. It can have up to 9. 2 are free; more need Zenith Gold (Gold).

Each sky has its own

The count, the lines and the names are saved in the sky's file. Opening a sky brings its regions with it.

How the screen splits

The same grid as Zenith Launcher:

regionsgrid
2top and bottom
3three rows
42 × 2
5–62 × 3
7–82 × 4
93 × 3

With 5 or 7 regions the grid has one cell more than regions, and the last region takes it.

Set the regions

Open settings › "layout & size" › "regions — this sky". Tap "regions: N" or "edit region layout". The full-screen region editor opens.

  1. At the top: "regions — drag a line to move it".
  2. Put a finger near a line and drag it. The whole line moves end to end, and the line you hold glows brighter. Lines keep a small gap from each other and from the edges, so regions never overlap.
  3. The slider sets the count, from 1 to 9. The line above it reads "2 regions". A new count puts the lines back even.
  4. Tap "done ✦" to save. "cancel", or back, leaves it as it was.

Each part shows its region's number, or its name once you've named it.

Without Gold the line reads "up to 2 free, more with gold ✦". Sliding past 2 opens the Gold offer and stops at 2. A sky that already has more than 2 — made while you had Gold — keeps them.

Name them

With more than one region, settings › "layout & size" shows one box per region, "region N name". Left blank, the region is called "region N". The name saves when you leave the box. Names are set here, not in the editor.

Where tasks go

  • Which bloom opens. Every touch works out the region it fell in. Inside a node you see everything in it; regions only split the top of a sky.
  • A new top-level task lands in the region where the last bloom opened.
  • A task moved up to the top from inside a node keeps the region it last had — region 1 if it was never at the top.
  • Fewer regions never lose anything. Tasks in a region that goes away move into the last region left.

Move a task to another region

On a top-level task's edit sheet, the ◳ chip shows its region's name. Tap it and pick another. It shows only when the sky has more than one region, and the move can be undone. See Move a task.

In List view and the matrix

List view shows each region's tasks under its name, with + to add a task straight into that region. The matrix groups its tasks by region too, with each region's name over its tasks.
