Chat memory & interpret screen

Two things change what the sky knows when you ask: whether it remembers your talks, and whether it is told what you are looking at. Here "the sky" means ask the sky — the calendar's built-in AI assistant (see Ask the sky — the assistant). Both controls live with the assistant, not scattered through the settings book.

#The four marks on the title line

The ask sheet's title line carries four marks, in this order, with no words on any of them.

#The sky remembers your talks (Gold)

There are two ways to turn remembering on.

• In settings. "the sky remembers your talks" sits near the foot of settings › "ask the sky". It shows a ✦ after it until Zenith Gold is yours, and tapping it without Gold opens the Gold offer rather than turning anything on. Its line reads "on: ask-the-sky talks persist on this device and feed back into the model's context — the sky knows what you told it last week."
• On the sheet. The ✦, third of the four marks, burns gold while the sky is remembering and is faint otherwise. Without Gold, a tap opens the Gold offer for chat memory and changes nothing.

#What is kept, and what is read back

• Each question you ask, and each reply as it was shown to you, written as they happen.
• It is one file in this app's own storage, holding the last 200 lines. It never leaves the phone by itself.
• Opening the sheet puts every remembered line back into the visible talk.
• The last thirty exchanges ride along with your next question.
• A reply that the safety check replaced is remembered as the refusal, not as what was blocked.

#Editing what it remembers

With Gold and the switch on, "✎ edit the remembered talks" appears under the switch — the ✎ is a pencil. It opens a sheet headed "the remembered talks", which says "tap a line to rewrite or burn it — the sky only remembers what you leave". An empty one reads "nothing remembered yet".

Each line is marked "you" or "sky". Tap one and you are offered "keep", "burn this line" and "leave it".

#Burning them is free

To burn is the app's word for deleting. "burn them all" sits beside the edit row, and it is offered whether or not Gold is yours — only remembering is Gold.

It asks you to confirm first, showing the cost "every talk, gone". Afterwards the sky says "the sky forgets — its memory of your talks burned". Both rows disappear once nothing is remembered.

#Asking out loud

• The sky can list what it remembers, with or without Gold.
• Rewriting a line needs Gold and the switch on. If either is missing, it says so.
• Asking it to start remembering is refused as Gold. Asking it to stop is free.
• Burning one line, or all of them, waits behind "allow destructive actions" — see What the sky can do — commitments.

#The eye — interpret screen

The first of the four marks is an eye. It has no words of its own anywhere in the app. Open, it is described "the sky sees this screen". Crossed through, it is described "the sky does not see this screen".

This is not the eye labelled "view" in the bottom-right corner of the sky. That one sets what every view shows.

It is not a row in the settings book. Tapping this eye, or asking the sky to flip it, are the only two ways to change it. With it open, one line describing what you are looking at is sent along with every question. That way "what's on this day?" has something to be about.

#It starts shut

On a new install the eye starts shut. It also starts shut on a phone updated from an older build, so an update never begins describing your screen without your asking.

One case is not covered. Settings written by a build from between 8 and 18 September 2026 may hold an "on" that build's default put there. The app can't tell that apart from a choice you made, so on such a phone the eye is open. Shut it yourself if you want it shut.

#What the line says

• From the sky — the whole calendar screen — it names the view and the year, the day you have selected, and up to eight of that day's commitments with their times. An empty day reads "nothing placed".
• From an almanac's page it describes that almanac instead: its name, its description, how many commitments it holds, whether it is drawn or eclipsed (hidden from the sky), whether it is locked, and what feeds it.
• Where there is nothing to describe, the eye is drawn fainter than either open or shut, and a tap does nothing.

#It is named when you are asked

Before your words first go to an AI company, you are asked for a yes. That question lists "a description of the screen, when the eye on the ask sheet is open" among the things that can travel. See Safety, consent & your rights.
