Show only when…, pinned places & today's agenda
A task can be tied to a moment — while the phone is charging, while you're at work, while you're in a meeting. Lists then show it only when that moment is true. Today's calendar events can be lifted into the sky too.
Tie a task to a moment
On the task's edit sheet, under "show only when…", tap chips to turn them on or off, then "save changes":
- "🔌 charging"
- "🎧 headphones"
- "📶 on wi-fi"
- "✈ offline"
- "📅 in a meeting"
- "🚶 on the move"
- a "📍" chip for each place you pinned
What counts as now
- Charging, headphones, wi-fi and offline are read from the phone.
- A pinned place counts when "places as context" is on and you're inside it.
- "in a meeting" and "on the move" count only when you switched them on.
They are read each time Tasks comes on screen.
What you see
- A star with a state that's true now gets a small mint dot.
- With "match my context" on in the viewer panel, List view and the focus deck keep only tasks that fit now, plus tasks with no chips. See The viewer panel.
A talisman can also start when a context is active — see Talismans.
The three context switches
On settings › "places & privacy", all off to start:
| switch | its line |
|---|---|
| "places as context" | "your pinned places (home, work…) show or hide tasks while you're there" |
| "in a meeting" | while an event is on in your phone's calendar, it adds the "in a meeting" context |
| "on the move" | a walk or a drive adds the "on the move" context |
Pin a place
settings › "context", under places & agenda.
- Type a "place name". Blank means "here".
- Tap "pin here".
It saves where you are now, with a 150 m circle: "saved “…” where you are (150 m)." A name already pinned isn't added twice.
Your pinned places show as 📍 chips. Tap one to remove it. They become choices under a task's "show only when…".
The page ends: "lock a task to a place and it only surfaces when you're there. your agenda adds an “in a meeting” context while an event is on, and motion mode adds “on the move”."
Today's agenda
Today's events from the phone's calendar, to read — and to lift one into your sky as a task. It never writes to your calendar.
Open it at settings › "context" › "today's agenda". It reads "today's agenda" — "read-only shadow of your calendar. tap “task it” to bring an event into your sky."
- Each event shows its title and times, "9:00 am – 10:00 am". The one happening now has ● in front and "· now" after.
- "task it" adds a task at the top of the sky with the event's title, due when it starts, and the note "from calendar: tue 9:00 am". It says "added “…”" and takes you to the sky. The undo pill can take it back.
Back, or swiping the agenda away, returns you to settings › "context".
