Ease — motion, colour & touch

The rest of the "ease" page stills the sky — the calendar screen, one canvas that becomes each view. It also sharpens edges, makes colours louder and shapes how the calendar feels under your finger. All of it is free.

Where. Settings › ease. The presets, sizes and "↺ back to standard" are on Ease — presets & sizes. You can also ask the sky to set any of these by name.

#Motion and glow

• "reduce motion" — stills the sky. Every change of view becomes a cut instead of a flight. The fan — a picked day's commitments spread inside the year ring — opens at once. No ripple follows a tap, no comet trail follows your finger, and the nebula and starfield stop drifting. It also turns view transitions off, whatever that switch says. Off by default; "calm" turns it on.
• "view transitions" — the dive between views, where the calendar flies into the earth or the moon instead of cutting to it. Turn it off and every view change is instant. On by default; "calm" turns it off.
• "remove glows" — draws the sky with no glow around anything, whatever the "halo" slider says. The edge where one thing stops and the next begins stays sharp. Off by default. "easier to read", "text only" and "calm" turn it on.

#Colour strength

"colour strength" pushes the colours of your almanacs — your calendars, each a coloured layer of commitments — toward full. It is for eyes that cannot tell the soft colours apart. The default is 1, exactly as drawn, up to 2.5.

The note under the slider says it plainly: the same colours, said louder. The legend, the menus and the calendar all move together, so a dot still matches its body.

It cannot strengthen an almanac left on the default near-white, because there is no colour there. Give that almanac a colour of its own and it will stand apart.

It changes only how colours are drawn, never the colours saved. It works on top of any theme. "easier to read" and "text only" set it to full.

#Touch

Under "touch" sit "haptics", "scrub texture", and, while both are on, "texture strength" and "bump spacing".

How the calendar feels:

• Taps and holds — a light tick for a tap, a stronger buzz for a hold.
• Texture — when you scrub over something (the ring, the globe's rim, a grid, a mark), you feel small bumps. Over empty space you feel nothing. The same texture runs over an almanac's page.
• Weight — the more a commitment carries, the stronger its bump. Notes, a place, material, a "what you fill in" section, links and its own mark each add a little. A day weighs as much as its heaviest commitment.
• Landing — arriving on a commitment mid-scrub is a firmer click, stronger than any bump.
• Your phone's setting — bumps play as touch feedback, so your phone's touch-vibration setting still governs them. Phones that cannot grade a bump play one of two fixed ticks.
• Switches — texture needs both "haptics" and "scrub texture". Landing needs only "haptics".

"texture strength" and "bump spacing" show only while "haptics" and "scrub texture" are both on. No preset changes the touch settings. "↺ back to standard" puts them all back.
