Themes, colours & background
settings › "the sky" sets how the sky looks: its theme, its colours and what sits behind the bloom.
Top to bottom
"theme" — the set of colours the bloom, the dock and the glows are drawn in. Eight themes, each with a small swatch of its colours: "clean", "mono", "pastel", "rainbow", "daytime", "mono inverted", "iridescent" and "neon".
- "clean", "mono" and "pastel" are free. The others wear ✦ and are Gold (Gold); without Gold they open the Gold offer, "every theme — including living iridescent & neon".
- Picking a theme also sets the accent colour and background to the theme's own.
- It starts on "clean".
"accent colour" — the colour of the rings, labels and trails. Six quick colours to tap, then "more…" for the full grid, "pick a colour". Without Gold, "more… ✦" opens the Gold offer, "custom colours — your own palette" (Gold). It starts on a soft white, the first quick colour.
"colour strength" — makes every colour in the bloom softer or deeper. A slider from 40% to 160%; "100% is as designed". It changes the accent in the bloom and the theme's colours on the dock.
"background" — the colour behind your bloom. Six quick colours, then "more…" for the full grid (Gold). It starts black. Choosing a colour takes away a background picture.
"use a picture" — your own picture behind the bloom, in place of the colour (Gold). Android's picker opens for an image. Once one is set the button reads "change the picture", with "remove" beside it. Without Gold the button wears ✦ and opens the Gold offer, "your own background image". The picture fills the screen.
"picture dimming" — how much your picture is darkened: "darker keeps the bloom easy to read". A slider from 0% to 90%, 35% to start. It shows only while a picture is set.
"↺ back to standard" — shows only once something here has moved. It puts the theme, colours, background, picture, picture dimming and colour strength back, says "back to standard", and touches nothing else.
High contrast wins
With settings › "ease" › "high contrast" on, the bloom is white on black. The background goes black and a picture is hidden, whatever this page says. Your choices here stay saved for when you switch it off. See Ease.
