The binder's settings

The binder — the page where all your almanacs live, in order — has a settings panel behind its ⚙. It holds the settings about all your almanacs at once. An almanac is one of your calendars, a named, coloured layer of commitments.

Tap ⚙ in the binder to open the panel. Holding ⚙ opens quick settings instead.

#"all your almanacs"

"new commitments land on" shows the default almanac, or "whichever comes first". Next to it, "your almanacs" gives how many you have and how many are archived.

• Choose the default with "◉ make default" in an almanac chip's menu, or "make default" on the almanac's page. The page then reads "the default". The app says "new commitments land on “‹name›” now", and the chip's name ends in " ◉".
• With nothing chosen, new commitments go on the first almanac that can take one. If the chosen one cannot — because it is locked, say — the first of the app's own almanacs that can is used, then the first of any.
• Ask the sky — the calendar's built-in AI assistant — can set the default too. It is refused an almanac that cannot take a commitment.

#"everything that reaches outside" — the two overrides

Two switches hold every almanac at once, without changing any almanac's own setting. Lift them and each almanac goes back to exactly what it was. Both are off by default. Both also sit in quick settings — hold ⚙ on the calendar.

In the binder each switch names its state. "nothing comes in" reads "nothing is coming in" when on, and "listening to everything plugged in" when off. "nothing leaves this phone" reads "nothing leaves this phone" when on, and "your edits go where each almanac says" when off.

Lifting "nothing leaves this phone" sends what was held back, says so, and sends up what is carried in Drive.

While either switch is on, each almanac's own switches say so, and tell you to lift it in the binder.

Neither switch covers ask the sky, the weather or searching for a place. Those have their own settings. Ask the sky can set both switches, and says back in full what it did.

#The rest of the panel

• "connect a google account" — "nothing reaches outside this phone until you do". Once connected, it reads "connected as ‹account›". It opens the calendar's own connections page, on the suite's shared account list.
• Counts — "carried in your drive", "shown to the rest of this phone" and "fed by a phone calendar". Each shows how many almanacs, or "none".
• "look for almanacs from my other devices" — brings your almanacs here up to date and fetches whatever else your other devices left in your Drive. While it looks, it says "looking in your drive…". Each almanac waiting there is listed with its name, its count and "make it an almanac". It keeps who it is — the same almanac as on your other device. If Drive cannot be reached or nothing is waiting, it says so.
• "re-read this phone's calendars" — for when something changed outside Zenith and has not arrived yet.
• "which calendars this phone downloads" — opens Android's sync settings. This is a phone-wide setting other apps share, and Zenith does not change it.
• "bring in an almanac from a file" — a .zca, a .zen of material, or a zip holding both.

Making an almanac from Drive counts toward the three free almanacs. Past three, without Gold, it opens the Gold offer.
