Reaching out — Shuttle & Zenith apps

Your launcher can hand things out to the rest of the suite. The shuttle — the suite's shared tray for passing things between Zenith apps — is the main road; the launcher also gives its sibling apps a place of their own in your app list.

Use the Shuttle

The shuttle is a shared drop list, not a clipboard. Using an item leaves it in place, and any Zenith app can drop something in or pick it up.

  1. Open the shuttle — tap a shuttle star (an item you've placed on your sky — your home screen), or use a gesture or talisman — a drawn-shape shortcut — you've bound to it. A panel slides in from the right edge.
  2. Tap an item's mark — the small symbol at the start of its row — to use it. A file opens; text is copied. Press and hold a file's mark to pick the app from Android's "open with" list.
  3. Tap an item's words for "↗ open it". A file opens, a link opens where it lives, and other text is copied.
  4. Hold an item's words to drag it into a Zenith app open beside the launcher in split screen. The item stays in the shuttle. Dragging only works outward: nothing can be dropped onto the launcher.
  5. Tap ⋮ for "⧉ copy it" or "− let it go".

Only "− let it go" or "clear all" takes items off the list. "clear all" asks first — "clear the shuttle?" — because the shuttle is shared, so it empties it for every Zenith app, not only here. Tap "· clear it ·" to go ahead, or "· keep them ·" to back out.

To close the panel, tap "· close ·", tap the dimmed sky, or go back.

To place a shuttle drop on your sky as a star, add it from the add screen's shuttle section instead. A file becomes a star that opens the file on tap.

Put a file in the Shuttle

The shuttle carries files of any kind, not just text and links.

  • From any app: share the file to Zenith Launcher and choose "add to the Shuttle".
  • From the shuttle itself: tap "+ add a file" at the foot of the panel and pick one from your phone.

The shuttle keeps its own copy on your device, so the file stays available after the app you shared it from has closed, and every Zenith app can pick it up. Letting it go from the shuttle deletes that copy.

If a file can't be read, or the phone has no room to keep the copy, you see "couldn't read that file" and nothing is added.

The message always says what really happened. Text you share shows "added to the Suite Shuttle", "that's too long for the Shuttle", "nothing to add", or "couldn't add that. try again." Several files at once may show "added 2 of 3 to the Suite Shuttle". If letting an item go fails, you see "couldn't remove it. try again."

The shuttle stays on your phone. Android's own phone backup never copies it, and a phone transfer doesn't carry it either.

For how the shuttle works across the suite, see The Shuttle.

Add a corner button for the Shuttle

If you use the shuttle often, put a button beside the Ask button in the top corner of your sky.

  1. Open Settings › system.
  2. Turn on "show 🚀 shuttle corner button".
  3. Leave "↳ always on" off to show it only while a ring is open, or turn it on to keep it there always.

Send content to a Zenith app

From the share sheet (when you share something to Zenith), a "send to <app>" row appears for each sibling app that can take the content — handing it straight across. See Reaching in — share, pins & Quick Ring.

Find sibling apps in your app list

The launcher gives Zenith's own apps a spot in deep sky — the full A–Z list of every app. Choose how in Settings › regions & star index, under "zenith apps in deep sky":

  • "first entries" — Zenith's apps sit at the top of the list. (The default.)
  • "icon row" — they appear as a row of tappable icons up top. The row leaves out the launcher itself and the Icon Pack; those two stay in the list.
  • "off" — no special spot; they sit in the list like any app.

The add screen also gathers every Zenith app and widget under its "zenith specialties" section.
