Deleting asks first, and undo
Ask the sky — Tasks' AI — can delete only while you allow it, and asks you every time. And everything one ask changes in your sky can be taken back at once.
The switch
settings › "ask the sky" › "↳ allow destructive actions — delete tasks, delete skies". It starts off, and only you can turn it on.
- Off — "the ai can't delete anything." A delete it tries is held back: "This needs “allow destructive actions” turned on." No question is shown.
- On — "it still asks you every time." Each delete stops and shows "the AI wants to: …", with what it would delete. Tap "allow" or "cancel". Cancel, or a tap outside, and nothing is deleted.
Asked to turn the switch on, ask the sky says "Only you can turn destructive actions on, in Tasks' settings." It can switch it off.
Another Zenith app's AI that reaches Tasks' delete hits the same switch: "that's switched off — turn on “allow destructive actions” in tasks' settings (ask the sky)."
What the switch holds back
| what | undo |
|---|---|
| deleting a task, with everything inside it | yes — the ask's undo, or the pill, puts it back |
| deleting a sky's file from the phone. One sky always stays open | no |
| removing something kept outside the sky, for good: an archived task, a template, a talisman (never the built-in Z), an actuation, a shuttle item — gone from every Zenith app — or a pinned place | no |
Closing a sky keeps its file under "saved on this phone", so closing isn't held back by this switch.
Undo the whole ask
The first time an ask is about to change a sky, that whole sky is copied once. The undo pill shows "what ask the sky just did" for 5 seconds. Every later change the same ask makes in that sky is covered by that one copy. If it changes a second sky, that sky gets its own copy.
When the ask is over, the chat offers "↶ undo what the sky just did". One tap puts back everything that ask changed in the sky on screen, and turns that sky's reminders back on.
It shows only while one of this ask's own copies is the next thing undo would take back in the sky on screen. Once you do something by hand that can be undone, it goes. So it never takes back an older ask, or a change you made afterwards.
If the ask also changed another sky, that sky has its own undo, offered once that sky is on screen.
Not copied: settings it changed, and opening, switching, closing or deleting skies.
Ask it to undo
Ask the sky can undo for you, as the pill's "undo" does: the newest change in the sky on screen, whoever made it. With nothing to undo it says "there's nothing to undo in this sky." See Undo.
